I've realized that this likely will not work. If the solution is
ionized in order to conduct electricity well the conducted electrons
will not be available for work (dissolution of water) resulting in
Faradic ineffeciency.

Worse still, it is possible the current or thermal energy from
Joule heating might drive chemical reactions producing unfavorable products.
